Mythological Significance of Amaterasu:
Amaterasu is a major deity in Japanese Shinto mythology, often referred to as the "Sun Goddess." She is the source of light and warmth, and her mythological significance lies in her role as the bringer of light, fertility, and prosperity. According to legend, Amaterasu withdrew into a cave, plunging the world into darkness, but was coaxed out, bringing light and harmony back to the world. The angular, reaching walls of this bowl emulate Amatersau's light.
